Debbie Spackman: Pastor

Kia ora, I am a keen follower of Jesus, a mother of 6 adult children, Nana to many and a transitional foster caregiver. I have lived in West Auckland since 1987 and I love it. Some other important things in my life are dancing, learning te reo Māori and making things beautiful. I love being the Pastor here at Te Atatū Baptist and journeying with people through the easy, the tough and the mundane times of life. I try to keep my relationship with God simple:- Jesus loves me this I know for the bible tells me so; whilst holding on to my life verse ‘for God has said “I will never leave you, I will never fail you.”’

William Hubble: Elder

I’m William. The most important things to me are my faith, my family and being part of a church where everyone is valued and accepted. I believe that God’s creativity and love can be plainly seen in the world around us and in all the incredible people that God has made. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. (Psalm 19:1-2)

Nicola Hubble: Elder

I love being a part of Te Atatū Baptist Church. With my husband William, we have attended the church for many years – came once, when we moved back to Auckland – then never left! We are a small but growing church where people are welcomed and valued as unique and dearly loved by God. We are learning to love God and love others in community, and would love for you to join us.

What we believe

  • We believe in the eternal God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe God is the creator of all creation, source of all life, love and goodness.

  • We believe that God is revealed in Jesus to reconcile and make new.

  • We believe that through his life, death and resurrection Jesus demonstrates and reveals God’s love, grace, mercy, forgiveness and justice.

  • We believe we are created in the image of God, to reflect the nature and character of God and to express God’s love, kindness, grace, mercy and justice in the world in which we live.

  • We believe that the bible is inspired by God and written by men and is useful for teaching the truth, revealing wrong doing, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living,

  • We believe in the baptism of believers as a public expression of faith.
